Xenophobia

Meaning: Fear of a foreigner or a stranger. Xenophobia is the fear of that which is perceived to be foreign or strange. A dread or dislike of anything or anyone foreign, especially people from other cultures and races.

Synonyms: Chauvinism, racial intolerance, dislike of foreigners, nationalism, animosity, bigotry, discrimination, enmity, antipathy, detriment, displeasure, narrow mindedness, mindset, partiality, repugnance, pique, revulsion, slant, spleen, unfairness, one-sidedness, preconceived notion.

Use: If xenophobia did not exist, racism would not exist because people would not dislike others because of their differences.

The dog’s xenophobia causes him to bark at everyone he does not know.
